Hailed as “…a fearless and confident performer with a beautiful high voice with excellent flexibility,” Korean-American Soprano and Music Director Jenny Kim-Godfrey is quickly gaining notoriety for her “nightingale tone” (Virginia Zeani) and as “an invigorating stage animal and gifted recitalist… A performer ready to forge new vistas!” (Gary Thor Wedow, New York Philharmonic).

Jenny has been the featured soloist with numerous renowned ensembles and companies including Asolo Repertory Theatre, The Florida Orchestra, Tanglewood Institute (BUTI), Opera Tampa, St. Petersburg Opera, Jacksonville Symphony, Florida Lyric Opera, Gravenhurst Opera (Canada), CLA (Italy), Sarasota Pops Orchestra, Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota, Guitar Sarasota, Ft. Myers Symphony, South Shore Symphony, New York Summer Music Festival, Catskill Choral Society, Bloomington Early Music Festival, Paju City Hall (Korea), and is ecstatic to return to Choral Artists of Sarasota this season!

In addition to her performance work, Jenny has given masterclasses and served as a voice faculty and guest Music Director at numerous Universities in both USA and South Korea. Jenny is currently a Resident Music Director with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. You can catch her conducting at Asolo Repertory Theatre this Spring in their production of Man of La Mancha. She will also be returning to Peterborough Players this summer to conduct Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tell Me on a Sunday after her successful conducting debut last summer in Cabaret.

Jenny is a proud member of the EMC and holds her Master of Music in Vocal Performance and minor in Choral Conducting from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she studied with the Award-Winning Mezzo-Soprano Mary Ann Hart and two-time Grammy and Emmy Award-Winner Sylvia McNair.
