During her remarkable ten-year tenure, Susan has been the guiding force that steered our organization through unprecedented growth and success. Her unwavering commitment, strategic vision, and tireless efforts have left an indelible mark on our chorus. Under the artistic leadership of Joseph Holt, the performances have not only multiplied in number but have also reached new heights in terms of quality and creative breadth. Susan’s role in building the administrative capability that supports this remarkable artistic journey cannot be overstated. Her foresight and dedication have positioned our organization for continued growth and success. As we bid farewell to Susan Burke, we extend our deepest gratitude for her transformative leadership and wish her a retirement filled with the same joy and fulfillment she has brought us over the years.
Executive Director Position
Choral Artists of Sarasota is a paid professional chorus that typically performs six major concerts annually. The Executive Director of Choral Artists of Sarasota is the Administrator for the organization and is employed by the Board of Directors.
The chorus is funded by tickets sales, grants, sponsorships, and donations. Working collaboratively with the Artistic Director (who makes all artistic decisions), the Executive Director oversees all non-artistic aspects including, but not limited to finance, marketing, ticketing, development, budgeting and contracts, media (including a website and social media), and public relations.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills (oral and written), complete tasks in a timely manner, be proficient in the use of technological applications (especially QuickBooks), and be willing to seek help as appropriate. The candidate should have a serious appreciation for the musical arts. Previous non-profit administration experience is highly desirable. Compensation will be commensurate with relevant experience.
