D-Day Commemoration Journey

Choral Artists of Sarasota has been selected to perform at the 80th Commemoration of D-Day taking place in Normandy, June 6 & 7, 2024. The Department of Defense in conjunction with the Monuments Commission commemorate the D-Day invasion each year to honor the brave World War II veterans and to underscore the importance of the allies’ commitment and sacrifice to preserve freedom.

Forty Choral Artists singers will travel to France accompanied by fifty non-singing friends of the organization. After performing in the official commemoration ceremonies at the Normandy and Brittany American Cemeteries. The Chorus will perform in the town square of Sainte-Mère-Église to celebrate the first village liberated on D-Day. Following performances in Normandy, the group travels to Paris where Choral Artists of Sarasota will present a concert at La Madeleine church.

On March 26, Choral Artists will present a concert of the music they will be performing in France.
